The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Antus Racing go out to jockey
Dale Beckner. Dale was seriously injured when his horse went down in
front of the pack in the first race on 8/28. He was air lifted to
Pittsburgh's UPMC hospital where he was admitted to the ICU. Dale
won for us last year aboard Corporate Mistress and most recently
grabbed nation wide headlines by beating KY Derby winner Mine That
Bird in the West Virginia Derby. We wish Dale and his family the best
and hope for a complete and speedy recovery.
With a brilliant ride by Weldon Cloninger Jr. Western Musical won by 3
lengths and was still pulling away on 10/19. Western Musical was hit
hard coming out of the gate and was well in the back of the field. Weldon
threaded between horses and made a successful run at a hole that opened
on the rail as the field turned for home. Congratulations to Weldon,
Western Musical, and his owners Kathy Antus and Whysper Wynd Farm!
Antus Racing Adds Son Of Prominent KY Sire To Roster

Breaking News!- The 2009 General Sire's List is out and Cajun's daddy
ranked #115. With only 2 crops of racing age, his progeny made over
$2.6 million in 2009! Not only did he make quite a bit of money with
fewer foals to race than most, his starters / winners percent was 64%!
That is 20 percentage points higher than #1 ranked sire Giant's
Causeway and that is 19 percentage points higher than his widely
publicized second crop peer, Medaglia D'Oro! We are very excited to
see what his 3rd crop can do, including our own Cajun Humor.
New to the Antus Racing roster is a yearling son of Toccet. Not only is
this young up and comer by a stallion who is a rising star, but he is from
the female line of the well established star, Distorted Humor. Toccet
was a precocious young runner, earning the majority of his $931,387 as a
two year old runner. During his two year old campaign he defeated well
known names such as Domestic Dispute and Empire Maker. Although
this son of his will not be campaigned in the same heavy two year old
fashion, we hope that he will show some of that ability long into his
career. Toccet stands at Castleton Lyons in KY and is currently ranked
#11 on the second crop sire list. "Cajun Humor" is a registered PA
bred. He was purchased by Whysper Wynd Farm. Pictures can be

The mighty Parallax took no prisoners as he pushed and muscled his
way to the front to win by a neck. For the second time in 2 days Weldon
Cloninger Jr. rallied an Antus horse to victory! Weldon wisely cut in on
the rail through very tight quarters both on Parallax and Western
Musical to ensure coming up with the win. Parallax had to create his
own hole and then went on to dig in gamely in a tight race to the finish.
Congratulations to Conneauttee Racing, Parallax, and Weldon on a
great race and great win! If I am counting right I believe that
Conneauttee's boys have now hit the board every time in the last 4 outs!
We are currently shut down for the winter. Our horses are enjoying time
off at the farm and playing in the snow (which there is plenty of)! Come
spring time though we will have a few openings for new horses. We are
currently seeking owners with experienced horses, and would really
welcome ones that have shown capability on the turf since that seems to
translate well on our synthetic surface. While we will take maidens if
there is room we are looking for winners with conditions to balance out
our group of very young horses.
If you are interested in trying something new, give us a call at
814-725-8159. We offer professional training, competitive day rate,
PID's high purse structure, and the ability to rotate horses onto the farm
for breaks in between races. We enjoy our owners and encourage them
to come and visit their horses on the backside and to participate in caring
for them. We are a small family friendly operation. The trainer is on site
with the horses every day and is able to tell you exactly how your horse is
doing.
